The Light at the End of the Tunnel

September 3rd, 2008 · 4 Comments

The war in Iraq may be coming to an end, according to our top military commander.  General David Petraeus stated that declining violence in Baghdad makes it possible for combat troops to leave the capital city by mid summer 2009.

The US and Iraqi leaders are working out the final details in what would be a timeline that would have American troops out of Iraqi cities by 2009 and out of the country by 2011.

All of this is assuming nothing else happens in Iraq, such as an increase in violence. The future of Iraq is now firmly in the hands of the Iraqi people. It is up to them to take control of their country. For the sake of our troops, we hope the Iraqi people are up to the task.

This is all proof that the troop surge worked, and maybe Bush knew what he was doing all along.

It’s about time, our troops have done their job and done it well. It’s time for Iraq to handle their own problems.

The surge did work and now its time to bring our troops home. They need to let Iraq sink or swim on its own.

Its time to bring the troops home. They have done their jobs and we do not need to loose anymore lives.

We did good work over there and we should be proud of our troops. If we have accomplished what we have needed to accomplish by 09 then we can start bringing them home.
