Starbucks has announced that it is closing 600 of its stores nationwide due to a slowing economy. Americans apparently are willing to give up their delicious 4 dollar lattes and not their 13 mile to the gallon SUV’s. You know times are getting tough when Starbucks is hurting.
Most of the stores that Starbucks are closing opened in 2006 or later. This could be bad news for Columbia’s vista location. Columbia could see more severe cuts in Starbucks locations because Dunkin Donuts has announced 30 new locations for the midlands area.
We do not know what we would do without Starbucks, we may have to get that new coffee pot we bought two years ago out of the box and figure out how to use it.

If Columbia were to loose any of it’s Starbucks locations, the city would be filled with mindless droans in the morning looking for coffee. On the other not hing would really change except for the looking for coffee part.

where on closes another will open. As long as there is a demand for coffee there will be a place serving it.
